It had a great ending. Sort of open-ended that left a lot up to the reader's imagination and really left me wanting more.

It must be really a shocking magazine. They both pretty quickly develop feelings toward each other without really crossing a virtual line, Emmi is a 'happily married' woman after all. Emmi, you can't stop talking about sex. It's pathological! But that doesn't stop her staking claim of her virtual soulmate. She just can't stop herself, it was really comical AND sad considering the situation. I'm sorry to say that yes, IT DOES MATTER TO ME WHEN, HOW, WITH, WHOM AND HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE SEX!

I quickly fell in love with his character. You've sent your message to the wrong address. This is a private one: woerter@leike.com.

What does “anything fundamental” mean – it means betraying nothing at all; we’ve yet to say anything about our lives, about our everyday existences, about the things that might be important to us. We’re communicating in a vacuum. There are no people around us.

Emmi's unique writing style, her numerations and analysis of Leo's psyche were still enjoyable to read but not as touching and, of course, not as unique any more. I'd rather avoid talking about Leo as I'm sorry to say that his character even wore out in the second novel. His voice was sometimes irritating and lost reliability. Altogether the plot seemed construed and interlaced with some obstacles to revive and elongate the correspondence between Emmi and Leo. I admit I once couldn't get enough of Emmi and Leo but as sad as I was when I finished Gut gegen Nordwind I was happy to be left with my own imagination of their story.

I thought that Glattauer was pretty accurate in his portrayal of how easy it is to make assumptions when you're not face to face with someone and adeptly showcases how people become trapped in their own perception of what they think is being said as opposed to what they're reading. He drives home the fact that reading people online is no easy feat and that what people perceive as being real, could be the opposite of what they've initially thought. It's this that makes the characters so interesting.

Plot lines and devices used in the first book that once felt so fres Every Seventh Wave is a sequel to the book. I loved Love Virtually! It was fun, quirky, bittersweet.all those wonderful ingredients that make a rom-com pop!!! It had a great ending. Sort of open-ended that left a lot up to the reader's imagination and really left me wanting more. However beware what you wish for as sometimes more is not what a book needs!

It's a virtual romance that begins by chance. When Leo mistakenly receives e-mails from a stranger named Emmi, he replies--and Emmi writes back. Soon, secrets are shared, sparks fly, and erotic tension simmers. Even though Emmi is married, it seems only a matter of time till they meet. But will their feelings survive a real-life encounter?

It takes a lot of mails and some encounters for Leo to discover that he is living a lie and yes this time the reader will partake in a happy end. This was a basic summary which might gave you the false idea that both novels are trivial. On the contrary, there is not much of a background story. Both novels live on the two main character's voices, on there beautifully written love mails which do without any kitsch. They are genuine, honest, witty, inspiring, ironic, reliable and most of all exciting to follow.

Still ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~≈~ I don't know where to start to explain you the whirlwind of emotions I experienced last night reading Love Virtually. But let's rectify something right now. Who decided to just change the original title of this book? It was called in German: 'Gut Gegen Nordwind: Good Against North Wind' And this makes so much more sense! A little while ago I asked for a book recommendation here on Goodreads, I wanted to know if there was possibly a good book out there with a very specific theme: long distance romance, email or chat correspondence. A Goodread user answered me: 'Are you kidding?

Many readers have said this, but if you're a fan of David Nicholls's work (particularly One Day, which happens to be one of my all-time favourite reads), then you will love this epistolary novel by Austrian author, Daniel Glattauer. The entire book is written in e-mail format and is a fast-paced, witty and wonderfully relatable novel which was translated to English by Husband and wife duo Jamie Bulloch (Leo's voice) and katharina Bielenberg (Emmi). I must confess I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but the easy, relaxed writing style (so reminiscent of what most of us would sound like on e-mail), won me over pretty quickly. Daniel Glattauer has a way with words and writes such fabulously snappy, clever dialogue that you can't help but wish that you were on the receiving end of any one of the e-mail responses conducted throughout the entire novel. There's an immediate rapport between Emmi and Leo, who each, seem to try and outdo each other in the sharp, spunky, quick-witted comeback stakes. Naruto movie lengkap sub indo. That there's a virtual chemistry becomes apparent pretty quickly, but with that online attraction, comes a whole new set of emotional issues, jealousy, insecurities and harsh accusations which stems from the fact that the two of them haven't met face to face. Strangely enough, the roles seem to be reversed and Leo seems to be reluctant to meet, while Emmi, despite the fact that she's happily married (or so claims to be), is dead keen on meeting the face behind the E-mail based persona (Somehow, I've always thought that women are more reluctant to meet their online 'friends').
